Within our PE and Wellbeing platform Striver, there are several resources that link to the Olympics and the UEFA Euro’s. We have compiled lesson plans from Years 1, 3 and 5 for you to use covering Athletics and Football. Alongside these lessons, you can download for free the Progression of Skills document and Knowledge Organisers. The Progression of Skills document outlines the different levels children should be achieving each year and Knowledge organisers can be a handy reminder for teachers and they are also a great way to give pupils and parents an understanding of what is going to be taught that term.
This year, we are also offering you the chance to win a year's subscription to Striver plus a free sports kit for a team at your school of your choosing, by entering our #SummerOfSport competition! This competition asks you and/or your learners to answer the question 'What does sport mean to you?'. Our aim is to encourage conversations about the physical and mental benefits of sport and celebrate how it positively impacts our lives.
To enter, simply tweet @2SimpleSoftware answering the question with the #SummerOfSport. You can submit as many entries as you would like from your school, however, the school will only be represented once in the random draw. For example, this might be by videoing a PE lesson from our free Striver pack or showcasing a sport that is special to you/your learners, and even writing about what sport means to you.
Striver is our PE and wellbeing platform which aims to improve primary aged pupils' long-term physical and mental wellbeing. It aims to achieve this by ensuring children of all abilities feel motivated and engaged, and teachers of all experience levels feel confident and in control. It houses over 400 lessons, supported by six wellbeing units in a clever website that makes planning and assessment a breeze.
Now more than ever it’s important that we look after children’s physical and mental health. The principle of Striver, is to empower all primary school teachers to deliver high-quality PE lessons across the curriculum. This takes on new importance in light of COVID-19 as it means children do not need to switch between members of staff for different elements of PE. Using Striver, every teacher in the school can provide engaging PE lessons for their bubble and easily submit assessment data using the app.
