In October, Black History Month will be explored across the country. It’s a time for our young learners to immerse themselves in the annual commemoration to find out about the significant contributions and achievements of the black community in the UK.
Our young learners live in an exciting, rich multicultural United Kingdom, understanding the past from a human perspective will help us all to continue to move future generations positively forward.
The theme for Black History Month this year is 'Saluting Our Sisters' and aims to 'highlight the crucial role that black women have played in shaping history, inspiring change and building communities'. At 2Simple, we have expanded our offering of resources for Black History Month to help you and your learners get the very best out of these weeks.
Our resources this Black History Month focus on notable black women across the world in an array of different industries. Your pupils can use our writing frames to learn and write about significant women from the black community who have achieved great things.
All our writing frames come with background information about each person, writer’s prompt and checklists. It’s important not to forget; it’s so easy to quickly edit any of these to suit your learners and then set as a 2Do in just a few clicks. Remember that, any work your learners do can quickly have objectives applied, judged and reported against. Happy Purple Mashing.
